How to properly maintain the drive axle of a cleaning car
The drive axle of a cleaning car is a key component of the vehicle, and its performance and life directly affect the normal use of the vehicle. Correct maintenance and cleaning methods can not only extend the service life of the drive axle, but also improve the operating efficiency and safety of the vehicle. The following are some methods and suggestions on how to properly maintain the drive axle of a cleaning car.
1. Daily inspection
1. Fastener inspection
Before and after the vehicle is put out every day, check whether the fastening bolts and nuts of the drive axle components are loose or fall off, especially the key parts such as the half-axle bolts and wheel hub bolts. If looseness is found, it should be tightened in time to prevent failures caused by loose bolts.
2. Lubricant inspection
Regularly check the amount and quality of the lubricant of the drive axle. Insufficient or deteriorated lubricant will affect the normal operation of the drive axle. When checking, the vehicle should be parked on a flat ground, and after the engine is turned off, open the refueling hole and the drain hole to check the oil level. If the oil level is lower than the specified height, add lubricant in time. At the same time, if the lubricating oil is found to be discolored, thinned or has a strange smell, it should be replaced with new oil.
2. Regular maintenance
1. Replace the lubricating oil
The gear oil of the drive axle should be replaced after a new car has traveled 1,500 kilometers or three months. After that, the gear oil needs to be replaced again every 2,500 kilometers. When replacing the gear oil, the old oil should be drained first, and then low-viscosity cleaning oil (such as a mixture of diesel and engine oil or gear oil) should be added, the drive axle should be jacked up, and the drive axle should be run at medium speed for several minutes to clean the inside of the drive axle, and finally new oil should be injected.
2. Clean the breather plug
The breather plug of the drive axle should be cleaned frequently to prevent dust and debris from clogging the breather hole and affecting the normal operation of the drive axle. When cleaning, the breather bolt should be unscrewed first, the breather hole should be cleaned with a detergent, and then reinstalled.
3. Check the braking system
The braking system of the drive axle should be checked every 3,500 kilometers, including the tightness of the brake base plate, the looseness of the wheel hub bearing, and the wear of the brake shoe. If the brake pads are found to be severely worn, they should be replaced immediately.
III. Cleaning and maintenance
1. External cleaning
Clean the outside of the drive axle regularly to remove dirt and debris attached to the axle housing. When cleaning, use a soft brush or rag, and avoid using a high-pressure water gun to rinse directly to prevent moisture from entering the inside of the drive axle and causing the lubricating oil to deteriorate.
2. Internal cleaning
When replacing the lubricating oil, the inside of the drive axle should be cleaned at the same time. You can use low-viscosity cleaning oil for cleaning, then blow it dry with compressed air, and finally inject new oil. This can effectively remove impurities and old oil residues inside the drive axle.
IV. Precautions
1. Avoid overloading
When the cleaning car is working, avoid overloading. Overloading will increase the burden on the drive axle, causing the axle housing to deform or even damage. At the same time, when driving on uneven roads, the speed should be reduced to avoid damage to the drive axle due to bumps.
2. Correct use of differential locks
If the cleaning car is equipped with a differential lock, the differential lock should be used correctly when one side of the wheel slips or idles. Improper use may cause damage to the differential and affect the normal operation of the drive axle.
3. Check the temperature regularly
During driving, you should stop the car regularly to check the temperature of each shaft head of the drive axle and the tightness of each connection. If the temperature is too high or there is an abnormal sound, you should stop the car immediately for inspection and continue driving after troubleshooting.
The above methods can effectively extend the service life of the drive axle of the cleaning car and improve the operating efficiency and safety of the vehicle. Regular inspection and maintenance are the key to ensure the normal operation of the drive axle. I hope these methods can help you.
